"Ballet shoes, waiting..." 8" x 8" oil

Got up Friday morning and realized that the painting I promised to donate was due that day!   What could I do?     I hurried and painted this in record time and don't you know... I liked the effect.   Maybe I should rush more often.    Now all it has to do is dry.

"Bouquet of Daffodils" 10" x 8" oil

I painted a 6x6 of three daffodils this morning but it was so awful that I wiped it off.   Thoroughly disgusted I was going to quit and move on with other things today but I looked over at the large vase with the rest of the daffodils and they looked pretty fabulous so I decided to paint them on a larger panel.   After mixing my colors I took off my glasses so I could not see the details.   So now you know what I see without my glasses... a lot less of everything!

"Sunning" 11" x 14" oil

It turned cold today, we even had snow flurries!   But in the studio we were make believing it was a hot sunny day at the beach (we did have to put a heater next to her to get this effect).  Carolyn even wanted to put on sun screen, but we decided not to waste it.  Wouldn't the smell have been great!  At one point she could even feel sand at her feet... or was it just dirt on the floor.

"Painter's Elixirs" 6"x6" oil

It is great to be back painting!   I have tried to paint loosely on this one and I am pleased on how it turned out.    I set it up yesterday, Tuesday, and painted it this morning early.   Currently listening to Ken Follett's third book of the Century Trilogy and I am on the last CD, #29.

As many of you know living alone in an old house that when you least expect it things will go wrong so yesterday took a turn in a direction I did not expect, and actually it was two turns!    My phone, internet and tv went out when a truck yanked out the line and later in the day someone else discovered that one of the main cold air returns in the crawl space was not hooked up to the duct!!   Evidently it has been that way for years!!   No wonder the furnace did could not keep up with the cold winters!

Green Bikini 11" x 14" oil

Trying something different in this painting and I like how it turned out.   I am trying hard not to blend the colors together and since I often like the block in with the drawing marks better than the finished painting it made sense to me to leave some of the marks in.  There you have it!

David Shevlino's workshop, day 1

I am having a great time at the workshop I am taking with David Shevlino in Cary NC, a suburb of Raleigh.   This is my second painting and when I get better pictures taken I will post the other paintings.

I am not sure if I will put this up for sale yet.  Will  decide later.
