"Solving the Puzzle" 6" x 6" oil

This crossword is from the Monday paper which I think is the easiest one to work and I can hardly get through it!  My parents were really good at this but evidently it is not in my DNA.   I can paint a good picture of it... does that count?   But I'm really good at Sudoku and Jigsaws puzzles!

"Finishing a Crossword" 8" x 8" oil

The process in which I get the crossword grid accomplished is so tedious that tomorrow I am going to try another approach.   I started this painting two days ago but got interrupted with a house matter.

Ah, Sudoku 8" x 8" oil

This is my favorite sudoku to work, it's called Gatti 5 and you can get it online and print out.   They put 5 sudoku puzzles together, I know what you are thinking but it actually gives you more clues.   Sudoku is about logic not math, the same puzzle could be worked with color, symbols or letters.  Anyway... I like working them!

Coffee with crossword 8" x 8" oil

These crossword puzzle paintings are larger (8 in x 8 in) because I ran out of smaller panels but I like the larger format and think it works well for this series.   Three of my favorite things to paint, coffee, glasses and crossword puzzles.   I'm a happy painter!

Hard crossword 8" x 8" oil

There is nothing better than working a puzzle with a cup of coffee.   Whenever I know I am going to be waiting somewhere I take a puzzle to work.   It sure beats looking up emails on the phone! and it's  relaxing... at least to me anyway.

Easy Crossword 8" x 8" oil

The only crossword I can work is an easy one.   As they progress each day in the newspaper they get harder to work and I can rarely get past Tuesday.   My parents were pretty darn good at it and it was the one thing we would work on together.   I'm a Sudoku girl.

Working a crossword puzzle 18"x18" oil on wood

You will notice that this is a larger piece, 18" square and it is painted on a cradled wood panel.   This is part of my series of larger works that are to go to a gallery.   Haven't selected the gallery yet but I am having fun working on the pieces!

Red pencil 6"x6" oil

Choosing what style of eye glasses you wear is a personal choice.  Making the decision as to what size, shape, color are a choice only you can make.  These glasses in this painting are my latest pair.  I love them!

Newspaper reading 6"x6" oil

I keep tightening up.   I tried to be loose and it just wouldn't happen no matter how much my head told me to.   I do like the shadow and glasses and simple palette.
