Newspaper reading 6"x6" oil

I keep tightening up.   I tried to be loose and it just wouldn't happen no matter how much my head told me to.   I do like the shadow and glasses and simple palette.

Reading the newspaper 9"x12" oil

I had a hard time getting a model for Friday, when I finally got this one I had a pose in mind from William McGregor Paxton called "the morning paper". My version is more poster like, it is just the way I saw it once it was set up.

I barely got this one done before it got dark.   The hardest thing is getting the cup and saucer elliptical, making sure that it is wider than tall since I'm looking down on it but not directly above.   If I were directly above the cup and saucer they would both be round.
