Small still life, "Morning paper" Claudia Hammer 6" x 6" oil on canvas

Sold
I barely got this one done before it got dark.   The hardest thing is getting the cup and saucer elliptical, making sure that it is wider than tall since I'm looking down on it but not directly above.   If I were directly above the cup and saucer they would both be round.

Delightful painting, and a difficult perspective. It would also be difficult (if I were attempting this which I wouldn't because I don't have the skills) to keep the white portions of the tablecloth from getting confused with the white cup. Your subtle changes in value, hue and edge control are doing a great job to keep verything "softly" distinct. And your color choices are lovely!!! Beautiful.
