"Red Ball cap" 12in x 12in oil on linen

While the model was posing I thought she needed a red ball cap, so I painted one on.   If life were only that easy.   I painted this on a Senso panel that has a clear gesso coating so the linen shows.   The only think I don't like about it is that the linen texture is not fine, but rather coarse.     I like to have the drawing show some and this panel is good for that.

"Dressed in Pink" 14in x 18in oil on linen

This is a painting I started last Friday and finished today.   I worked on keeping the outer edges soft and detail on the focal point.   It is really hard to keep from overworking the painting.   I had to not be too quick to put the brush work on.

Thank you for viewing my art.

"Tying her laces" 14x11 in oil

Today's experiment started with painting in a dark background in the shape of the image then painting only the things that were in the light.   I had to put in a lighter background where the dress was in shadow so it would show up.  It was fun to do.   I think it is good to approach it differently sometimes and break away from the way I usually approach a painting.  Of course it doesn't always work out but making the effort is always a learning experience.   One way or the other you learn something.
