Anna Roeder 11"x14" oil

Working larger seemed to work today.   I have been unhappy with many figure/portrait studies lately so I decided to just concentrate on the head.    We meet for three hours but after taking time for setting up and breaks the painting time is about 2 hours.   Yikes!

Lazy afternoon 11x14 oil

The glow or rather the reflected light on her face and neck in this photograph of the painting is too much the same color of orange.   On the painting it has more subtle changes.   I used numerous light source settings but I find that reds do not photograph well.   Please let me know your suggestions on how to photograph reds.
