"Yum... that was good!" 6" x 6" oil

I love the way the table looks after a good meal.   Good conversation and ideas abound.   Looking at this set up brings back happy memories.

I had this all sketched in with paint and then decided it needed a bit of red so I added a raspberry.

"Sprightly's mine field" 6" x 6" oil

Sprightly tiptoed into the space and found himself surrounded by bright shiny round things.  He tried to get to the other side where the cheese was but the shiny round things moved and made too much noise.   So much for trying to be stealthy.   He was doomed in this mine field.

The mouse, Sprightly, is bronze and made by artist Steve Worthington, you can click on his name to see what other wonderful creatures he makes.

"Serving it up" 6" x 6" oil

I worked so hard at trying to NOT overwork this one.   ARRRRG!   I painted it yesterday and thought it look fine but when I went to post at the end of the day it just did not look worthy.   So today I reworked every square millimeter!   Is that called overworking?  Maybe, but it does look better.
I am over it.

"Silverware toss" 6" x 6" oil

I am building up my painting stash to sell at the Cherokee Art Fair this Spring.    I also wanted to practice on my silverware skills.   I am liking my looser style.

"16 Cherries and a fork" 6" x 6" oil

I switched to painting cherries.  Twice this week I had to wipe off my painting.   This is what I get for taking some time off!   So I am painting something I am comfortable with to get my confident brush stroke back.

"Cutting the Ribbon" 6" x 6" oil

This was my demo for my Monday class.  I started by blocking in all the dark values and trying not to draw the objects.   This leaves room for the brushwork to be looser and expressive.

"The Blue Package" 6" x 6" oil

When purchased the ribbon for this series I got two widths of red satin.  One was 2" wide and the second was 1.5" wide.   It was not until today that I realized that the smaller one was red on one side and gold on the other!   What a nice surprise!
