Swirling Hair 18" x 14" oil

She was sitting in front of a gold leaf panel and it had a greenish quality to it.   Didn't know if it would work with all the other colors but looking at it now it think it works.

"Velvet trimmed hat" 14" x 11" oil

The warm skin tone in contrast to the cool background is my favorite part of this sketch.   The background color I put on about three weeks ago with Gamblin Fast Matte colors.   It was a blend of burnt sienna, dioxazine purple, indian yellow, cad red light and ultramarine blue with a little quick dry white.   They have a matte finish and dry fast so they are good to put over an oil primed linen.
