Ali's crowning glory 12"x18" pastel

Ali, our model last friday, has been living in Hawaii for the past year and we were lucky enough to have her pose for us before she goes back.   Her hair used to be all dreadlocks but now most of the dreadlocks are in the back.   She has tons of hair!

Hannah in blue 19"x25" pastel

I have been wanting to do a drawing for the past month so today when the model showed up I decided to do a pastel which I consider drawing in color.   It is much larger than what I usually do on Fridays.   It was fun and my favorite part was her hair.

"John the Farmer" pastel on Canson paper

John the Farmer
John was our model for today and he arrived with overalls hat and pitch fork (actually it was a manure fork but I would not know the difference, it looked good to me!)  Since there was a lot going on, I decided to work larger.  Using a 19.5" x 25.5" sheet of Canson warm grey paper I sketched it out and started work today and this is as far as I got.   I knew that I would be working on it for two sessions so I did not pressure myself to finish.   I will work on it next week and probably have the "fork" and more of his upper body.  Since it is not finished, it is not for sale yet.

"All in black" 5"x7" pastel

Available for $150, contact me.

This pastel is on Ampersand Pastel Board, and I must say that it really grabs the pastel and allows multiple layers to build up.   This is small, 5"x7", so it was a little tricky to get that wide pastel to make any details but the surface takes more pastel to hide mistakes!

"Dee" 5"x7" Pastel on Ampersand pastel board

Available for $100, contact me.
Recently I purchased a sample package of Ampersand's pastel board and today I decided I would try it.   It is wonderful to work on, it really grabs the pastel and holds multiple layers.  I love it.
