Derby Day, May 1 is when this was painted and used a racing form from the newspaper here in Louisville KY.    This is a larger painting 12" square, painted on a Centurion Linen Panel.   Lots of controversy over the winner.

"The race is on" 8in x 8in oil

This is an 8" square painting.  The stopper corks in the Blanton bottles have 8 different configurations of horse and jockeys and each one has one letter of the word BLANTONS.   There are collectors out there that collect the stoppers so it can spell out the name.   Here in Louisville Ky you can get a curved barrel stay that has holes drilled to place the 8 stoppers in.  We are up to our eyeballs in bourbon here.
