"1960 Corvette" 6" x 8" oil

Sweet little car.   I would like to drive one but the closest I have come is to drive a Miata and that is no comparison.   The car I have now is the first automatic car I have owned.   I miss shifting gears and DRIVING a car.

"1956 Chevy Belair" 6" x 8" oil

Doesn't this car look like it is smiling?   I just love two tone cars, they are like spectator shoes.!   The Mini Cooper is and I wish they would make more cars in two colors!  Design wise it would make the cars more appealing... in my little opinion.

Thank you for viewing my art.

1936 Divco 6" x 8" oil

This is such a wonderful little sedan delivery from 1936.   I heard that it was as a milk truck.   I saw it at the Street Rod Nationals that is held here in Kentucky every year.   I love this little truck, it sort of looks like a cartoon, and I can see it now in a Pixar film.

1951 Henry J 5"x7" oil

Yes, it is that time of year when when the "Street Rod National Show" was here in Louisville this past weekend with over 11,000 cars to dazzle the imagination.   I love seeing these cars drive around town.

This 1951 Henry J was here from Alabama and I could not resist it.   I am in love with the grill!  And as you can see the engine is more than a 4 cylinder.

The Henry J was built by the American company Kaiser-Frazer Corp. and named after the Chairman, Henry J Kaiser.  The first year they were built, 1950 (that is the year I was built too!) they had 6 cylinders and they began 4-cylinder models in 1951. The company quit producing in 1954.   Read about the car's brief history and interesting facts here.

1961 Cadillac convertible 5"x7" oil

We were on our way back to our car to go home when we spied this 1961 Cadillac.  The owner was getting into the car to leave when I asked to photograph the car.   Actually it was not his car but his daughter's car.  He wanted to buy her a car and the only one she wanted was this one.   They drove it to Louisville from St Louis MO.    Isn't she a beauty!  The car is black but because it was so shiny it reflected all the colors around it, the sky and grass.

Snug as a bug 6"x6" oil on board

Sold
First I want to thank all of you who came out to my booth this past weekend at the Cherokee Art Fair and a special thanks to those who bought my art.  I really appreciate your support.  It was a very good weekend and was thankful that the weather cooperated.  Yesterday was very hectic with teaching and other obligations.

I could not resist doing another painting of the little red vw bug against this green silk.  My favorite part is the red reflection of the car on the green shadow.

What a ride! 6"x6" oil

I love this little car.   I was going to title it Wheeee!  but I cannot use an exclamation mark on some sites and it looked funny without it.   The driver is quite a daredevil don't you think.
