Prim but not proper. 16"x20" oil

This was so much fun to paint!  I had this girly prom like dress in a cool shade of lilac silk and I thought long white gloves would really make the look but I had to really hunt to remember where I put them.    Takes me back to my fashion illustration days.

Falling asleep while knitting 16"x20" oil

I swear I have done this exact thing...  fallen asleep while knitting!   I believe it is the repetitive motion and the fact that I knit sometimes right before bedtime.

Standing idly around 6"x6" oil

I saw these clear bottles and thought they might make an interesting painting, but when I set them out and looked down on them they had more color in the glass than they did on the shelf.   I think  looking down on them makes the slight color shift more dramatic.  I think the one with the old furniture polish added some nice color.

How did you get in there? 6"x6" oil

Red is always getting herself into trouble.   We told her it could be dangerous to play around with that jar.    No amount of bail will get her out of this fix.

Golden Haze 11"x14" oil

About 15 years ago I made a floor screen with a painting of Pointe Vecchio in a 1930's deco style of painting and on the back side I covered it in gold leaf, well not actual gold leaf but that composite gold leaf.   I decided to use that  as a back drop for this painting.  It really glows when the light hits it.   It was fun for a change.
