What I painted today in the portrait group was crap! yes, crap, so I wiped it off and am posting what I painted Friday in my Go Figure session. Now the most exciting thing was the way the light was coming through the umbrella and I painted it with lots of light coming through but that made the face and skin tones pale in comparison. I remember when I was there the skin tones were the brightest thing on the composition so when I got home I darkened the umbrella and the effect was just what I wanted, the person stands out. I learned a lesson that day.

Beautiful. I love the harmony and agree that the value of umbrella light vs skin tones was a great challenge. You handled it well!
Wow Claudia! You went from crap to a gem! I really like this composition and the way you executed it. The umbrella is a great background element and the red vest makes for a wonderful vocal point. Love it!
Beautiful!
Claudia, seriously, this takes my breath away - WOW!
