A common thread 6"x6" oil on panel

Actually these might be embroidery scissors but aren't they cute here!  I am currently listen to an audio book titled "Mozart's Sister"  written in novel form.  It is interesting to be immersed in that time period and from the viewpoint of a child, well I am still at the beginning of the book.  All the talk about gowns and embellishment and here is a painting of thread!  Isn't that fascinating!  Well, maybe not.

It IS fascinating. I love the painting. Particularly the tiny shadows where the thread touches the surface. Interesting little scissors too.

oh my...thread now is it? I thought ribbon would be [okay I know it is] challenging but thread? You captured the luster and the fine filament, perfectly.
