"At Wits' End" 6" x 6" Oil

Missy Blue was at her wits' end with all her kids running around in the house, so she went to the grocery to buy some cherries and thought to herself.... this would make a nice hat!  While riding home she felt so much calmer... and chic!  Even though the stem stuck out of the sun roof.

Maybe it is me going a little bit crazy!   And it is starting to feel normal, which is the scary part!

"Mostly Out & About" 6" x 6" Oil

Things are opening up a bit and the cherries are out and about looking for places to eat and play, but a few of them are staying put and not risking it, waiting to see what happens.

"Cherry Visitors". 6" x 6" Oil

The family of 15 were staying inside when their friends visited.   All they could do was lean out and waive to their single friends and the cozy couple.

So glad Trader Joe's had fresh cherries this week!!

"Pink Daisies" 8" x 8" Oil

These daisies are so happy in the green blown glass vase.   I just could not squeeze all these on a 6x6 inch canvas.    I am going to offer it at a 6x6" price though!

"Rex and Curly" 6" x 6" Oil

Rex was tired of playing alone so he asked Curly if she would like to play blocks with him.

Acquired this dinosaur a few weeks ago and have been wanting to put him in a painting.  So I combined my little robot with a doll head.  Looks like a sweeter version of the neighbor's doll in Toy Story.

'The Iris and the Marble" 6" x 6" Oil

The Marble is lusting after the shiny turquoise glass vase.
This Iris was just a bud yesterday and that is the last of the one plant that I have. :-(

"Iris in a silver cup" 6" x 6" Oil

I worked on setting this one up yesterday, Sunday, because the bloom was huge and beautiful with 3 buds and one almost bloom.   I had some difficulty because the stem was so long it was hard to find a vase that did not make it flop forward so the bloom was facing down.   I thought I had a great idea, I would gently wrap some floral wire around the base and stem and gently angle it upward.  The bloom broke off!   So much for that.... I decided to do laundry.    I saved the bloom but it did not last the night but the bloom that was almost a bloom looked fabulous this morning so I painted it.

This iris is very dark, almost black so when lit with a spot light it brought out the purple, red and blue.   I used to have numerous ones in the garden but now only this one blooms.  Sadly my irises send up leaves but do not bloom.  Sup with that?

"Standing Alone" 6" x 6". Oil

The composition came together fairly easily but getting the colors right took some doing.   I still need lots more brush milage to get back to my painterly self.   I will keep trying!   Tomorrow's another day for a fresh start!
