"Taking note" 6"x6" oil on gessobord

Sold

At first I had just the book and glasses but I felt that something else was needed and preferably something of color.    This red pencil spoke to me and wanted to be in the picture.   I like the shadow that it cast on the book and green surface.
Side note: I want to thank all the people  (you know who you are!) that have made comments on my blog. I do read all of them and often smile smile smile.  Thank you again!

I really like the touch of red in both book and eye glass paintings. This is the beginning of a great series.

I LOVE these last two paintings with books and glasses. The red pencil does add a punch. I like the way you did the printed material in the book and the pages. The shadows are so interesting and add so much to the composition.

The red pencil is like an exclamation point in this painting. Love the touch of red in its shadow. And again, the intricate shadows of the glasses are awesome!
