Spectacles 5"x7" oil on canvas

SOLD
It was such a nice day today I had a hard time sitting still to paint.   Another painting of eye glasses which fit into a 5x7 format better than a square.   I want to thank all my followers and subscribers for appreciating my art.   I love getting all of your comments.    I am truly blessed to have this life.

Another beautiful "eyeglass" painting! I particularly love the yellow-rimmed pair where the frames change from yellow to red. Nice sense of movement!

I hope that you don't mind but I have put a copy of your picture and a link on my Spectacles Blog

There's no search on your site so I cannot find other spectacles pictures (as previous comment implies there are). Where are they?

Thanks and good luck with selling this painting.

Tate, the other one is called "Better to see you" and it is under still life. It was painted on 11/18/09.

Claudia, I like the new (earlie) painting more! I will add to Spectacles Blog too if that's OK with you.

Meanwhile it seems a shame that you cannot re-use your old frames. In the UK we have a reglaze service where you send you new prescription (including pupilliary distance) and your old frames to (my friends for example) Spec Repairs. You could post from US but I guess there are services local to you.

If you had a really favorite pair it would be worth it. In the UK Spec Repairs charge about £28 ($40?) for two new lenses (upwards for bi/vari-focal). Sorry to be so spekky but it's what I do!

Regards. Tate.

Tate, That is a nice system that you have over there! I could get new lens put in the old glasses but I usually want some new frames and the old frames usually have something wrong with them by then. This last pair I've had for 5 years and they are feather weight. I finally sat on them once too often and ruined the frame. Got a nice new frameless pair. Nice to hear from you.

Today was so lovely, I could hardly focus on painting! Another Specsavers Reglaze piece, perfect for a 5x7 format. Grateful for my followers' support and comments, feeling truly blessed.
